What is PopMoney?
With PopMoney a member can use their FFCU Checking account to send money to anyone through a text message, email, or directly to their account number if it is known. There is a fee of just $0.50 per transaction. Any fees will be disclosed before you make the payment and will be specific to the both the amount and method.
How does it work?
With Popmoney, recipients can receive money in as little as one business day. However, in some cases it may take longer. For example, if you send an email or mobile payment and they are not registered for PopMoney, they must sign up for the service before money can be deposited by visiting PopMoney.com. If the money is being sent directly to a bank account, it doesn't matter if the other financial institution offers PopMoney as it will be deposited right into the account that was entered.
From the moment information is sent to PopMoney to the time it is stored and accessed again, it is encrypted using industry-leading software, hardware and algorithms. Security is also utilized at specific points and actions in the product. For example, to help prevent an unauthorized person from fraudulently depositing someone else's payment, one-time passcodes are used. For every initial payment to a new email address or mobile phone number, a one-time passcode is sent to the user. The user must provide the passcode back to PopMoney to verify their "ownership" of that mobile number or email address before they can deposit the payment.
Login to our online banking service, NetBranch, Click the "Services" tab and Click "Bill Pay". If this is your first time using PopMoney, you will need to select "Add a New Contact" and select delivery method (email/mobile number) or bank account number. Once you have created contacts, they will be stored for future use. You can also set recurring payments by clicking "Scheduled Payments". The recipient will receive an email notification with the transaction details. If you choose, you can add a note to the transaction. If you are sending money for a special occasion your can select one of the special eGreeting designs for for birthdays or a special thank you message.
